The panel of judges included 62 high level executives and European experts, as well as bankers and investors in fintech. Backbase was selected amongst a list of nominees representing 400 European fintech companies - and from this made it to the Top 100 European fintech companies

Backbase, the omni-channel banking platform, has won the award for the most ‘Innovative Banking Software Company’ at the European FinTech Awards 2016. Backbase’s platform has been created around customer-centric design principles and delivers seamless digital experiences across multiple devices and customer touch points.

The European FinTech Awards & Conference 2016 is one of the biggest events in payments and financial services innovation. The event brought together companies from across Europe with over 400 handpicked entrepreneurs, innovation leaders of Europe's top banks, fintech investors and advisors. This event focused on showcasing the best technology-based solutions for financial needs in Europe.

Each nominated company was assessed by a panel of expert judges (a panel of 62 high level executives) from a number of major global banks and venture capital firms, such as ABN AMRO, Deutsche Bank, La Caixa Bank, Lloyds Banking Group, AXA Strategic Ventures, BNP Paribas and Santander InnoVentures just to name a few. Based on their assessment, and the outcome of public voting, companies selected would become part of the FinTech 100 before progressing to the final awards.
